Casein is a slow-digesting dairy protein that people often take as a supplement. It releases amino acids slowly, so people often take it before bed to help with recovery and reduce muscle breakdown while they sleep. Several studies have shown it helps boost muscle growth, along with a ton of other benefits.

Mohawk.
Did I understand?
Use evidence to support your answers.
Where is Leo at the start of the story?
At the start of the story he was at the hairdressers cutting his hair into a Mohawk.
What was the name of Leo’s old school?
Leo’s old school was at South Central primary school.
How does Leo feel about his haircut when he first gets it?
At school with the Mohawk he thought that everyone(school mates ) would love it and he thought he was cool.
What motivated Leo to get a Mohawk?
He got motivated to get the Mohawk as he sometimes got bullied and he wanted to be cool/popular. He wanted kids to like him more so it motivated him to do so.
Have you ever considered (or had) something different about you? Hair? Clothes? What and why.
I did once cut my hair because I wanted to cut my hair shorter & because it felt uncomfortable and my head felt heavy.
Write 3 sentences about the story using ‘They’re’, ‘There’, & ‘their’.
They’re very happy for their daughter to enter university.
There was a sound like swarming bees as the clippers moved up from the base of his skull to follow round his right ear.
Their dog wiggled his tail like he wanted something.
Exploring Language
What do these words mean? Find a definition for each one and use it in a sentence
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Have you read Mohawk? if so what was your favourite part?

Flood
MetService had a code-red warning in place for Canterbury/Christchurch as the deluge was expected to bring up to 400mm to the high country by Monday afternoon. A red warning is its highest alert level and has only been used once.
People were evacuated in Springfield, the Upper and Lower Selywn Huts and in Peel Forest, while people trapped by flooded places were rescued in multiple locations.
Waimakariri District Council said the Eyre River stop banks were expected to fail and 133 households along the river from Wolffs Road and north of the river to North Eyre Road had to evacuate immediately.
The Ashley River stopbank was also at risk of failure and 100 Fernside residents between Mt Thomas Road, Oxford Road and Merton Road had to evacuate immediately. Another eight households near Kairaki Beach were also being evacuated.
The Mandeville Sports Centre and Rangiora Baptist Church were set up as evacuation centres and lots and lots of people were already there.
Millions of people have lost their home, plus farms...and lots of schools were closed.
In Ashburton, the river rose rapidly and the army was sent in in case residents needed to be evacuated.
Ashburton Mayor Neil Brown said there was still capacity in the Ashburton River, but pressure points were of a major concern.
Half of the town's residents would have to be evacuated if the river breached the stop banks.
Ashburton District Council advised residents in the vicinities of Allenton, Netherby and Racecourse Road, to prepare for evacuation as a "precautionary measure".
There was also a farmer who had his farm flooded and used his boat on the water/playing around with it.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: how were you affected?
That's all I have today, thank you for reading, it means a lot :)
