Reading plus 5.

 Well here is my progress this week!:

Milk Plastic(Caesin)

 Aim : I want to find out how to turn milk into plastic.

Method: 


Equipment:

• Stove, Oven or microwave

• Measuring cup

• Measuring spoon

• Milk 1 cup

• pot or microwavable container

• white vinegar

• paper towels

• spoon

• mug

• Optimal (Food colouring glitter cookie cutters)

Instructions:

1. Get everything ready

1. Pour one cup of milk in the pot or microwave container

1. Heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove until it is steaming

1. Add 4 teaspoons of white vinegar to a mug

1. Add the hot milk to the mug with the vinegar

1. Stir the mixture with a spoon

1. Stack 4 layers of paper towels on a surface that is safe to get damp

1. Scoop out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels

1. Fold the paper towels over the curds and press down to absorb excess liquid

1. Colour, shape,or mold the dough as you like

1. put all your creations on a paper towel and let them dry overnight

Casein is a slow-digesting dairy protein that people often take as a supplement. It releases amino acids slowly, so people often take it before bed to help with recovery and reduce muscle breakdown while they sleep. Several studies have shown it helps boost muscle growth, along with a ton of other benefits.

 Here is my progress again for reading plus: 

Edible Slime

 Aim:

I want to find out how to make edible slime.

Method:

Equipment:

1. Marsh mellows
2. Popsicle stick
3. Cup
4. icing sugar
5. microwave
6. vegetable oil

Instructions:

1. Get the Equipment
2. wash your hands
3. put the marshmallows into your cup
4. Melt the marshmallows in the microwave ( 10 seconds )
5. put a DROP of oil
6. put some icing sugar
7. stir the marshmallows till it becomes slime

Results: 

I could stretch it the longest, my slime was DUCTILE in the class and when i ate it, it felt smooth but very hard: 

Skittle Colours

Aim:

I want to find out what happens when you put Skittles in water

Method:

Equipment

• Petri Dish
• Skittles
• Warm water
• small beaker

Instructions

1. Get all you equipment ready.
2. spread out the skittles around the edge
3. Gently, pour the warm water into the middle of the petri dish
4. Observe what happens

Results:

Discussion:

why did the colour have the skittles? 

The sugar coating dissolved in the water.

Why did the colours not mix?

Mohawk.

1. Where is Leo at the start of the story?

            At the start of the story he was at the hairdressers cutting his hair into a Mohawk.

2. What was the name of Leo’s old school?

    Leo’s old school was at South Central primary school.

3. How does Leo feel about his haircut when he first gets it?

      At school with the Mohawk he thought that everyone(school mates ) would love it and he thought he was cool.

4. What motivated Leo to get a Mohawk?

       He got motivated to get the Mohawk as he sometimes got bullied and he wanted to be cool/popular. He wanted kids to like him more so it motivated him to do so.

5. Have you ever considered (or had) something different about you? Hair? Clothes? What and why.

   I did once cut my hair because I wanted to cut my hair shorter & because it felt uncomfortable and my head felt heavy.

Write 3 sentences about the story using ‘They’re’, ‘There’, & ‘their’.

1. They’re very happy for their daughter to enter university.

2. There was a sound like swarming bees as the clippers moved up from the base of his skull to follow round his right ear.

3. Their dog wiggled his tail like he wanted something.
